XTREME BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
Most Promising New Business sponsored by BT
The title of Most Promising New Business at the Chamber Awards 2004 was awarded to Scotland-based communications company Xtreme Business Solutions. Within its first year of trading Xtreme was the first company in Scotland to be accredited to install, commission and service advanced LaserBit Technology.
Highly specialised marketplace
Xtreme Business Solutions, member of the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, designs and installs structured cabling, fibre optic and network hardware solutions. Set up by Graeme Duncan in 2003, the company had a huge differentiating factor from the outset – Graeme is an RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer). This is the highest qualification in the field, with only a handful of registered RCDD’s in Scotland. Due to the highly specialised nature of the marketplace and the expertise that Xtreme possesses it has built a strong reputation in the short time that it has been operating.
Successful market penetration
Within a year of operation Xtreme Business Solutions had met its projections for turnover, profit and continued growth of its customer base. The company’s RCDD status has proven to be competitive particularly with Government bodies who see this as a prerequisite for electrical and data networking contractors. With its head office in Aberdeen, Xtreme also has offices in Glasgow and Dunfermline. Due to its success it also has an operation in Warsaw.
What the award means to Xtreme Business Solutions
Graeme Duncan, founder and Director of Xtreme Business Solutions said, “Winning the Most Promising Small Business of the Year Award has really helped in positioning Xtreme as a brand. We tell our customers that we are the best in our field, as every company does, but winning the award sets this in concrete and backs up what we are saying.”
He added, “The award is great recognition for the work that has been done by everyone since the company was launched two years ago. A national award of this level supports what the company is about – installing quality systems for our clients.”
Life after the awards
Since winning the award, Xtreme Business Solutions has doubled its workforce and it has taken on a Non-Executive Director. It is currently looking to expand the business to offer new services to its customers through dedicated telecoms and IT divisions.
